Family-owned Mexican · Seaside Heights

Near the beach, but not inspired by it

Ten years in Seaside Heights, a block off the boardwalk. Mexican ingredients, Puebla recipes, and the family that cooks them.

Celso and Blanca, who run Montes Cafe, at the restaurant

The beach does not inspire our chalupas, our birthplace does. Sharing Mexican culture through food since 2016.

Why locals skip the boardwalk for us

The Montes Cafe kitchen crew at work

Authentic and family-owned

We are a family kitchen at 609 Boulevard, and we cook like one. Ingredients imported from Mexico, traditional recipes, and dishes that remind you of home, or make you want to visit our home.

Off the boardwalk, on purpose

The Seaside Heights boardwalk offers plenty of funnel cake, pizza slices and cheesesteaks to go. Montes is the other side of the boardwalk: a block off the beach on the tree-lined Boulevard, Montes Cafe offers sit-down Mexican, indoor or outdoor, where the food is the reason locals and visitors keep coming back.

BYOB, and order direct

Bring the cerveza or the bottle of wine you like and make a night of it. Staying in? Order straight from us for pickup or delivery. Celso usually delivers your order, not a random courier from a delivery app.
